Echlo terms of service
Last updated: 8 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between Echlo Ltd ("Echlo", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales under number 17505175, with its registered office at 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, and the business that signs up to use Echlo ("you").
Echlo is for businesses, not consumers. By signing up you confirm you are acting for a business.
1. What Echlo does
Echlo lets you send your customers a link or QR code asking about their experience. Your customer answers a few questions, Echlo drafts a review from their own answers, and your customer edits and approves it. The customer then posts it themselves on the platforms you choose. Echlo shows you each request's progress.
Echlo never posts a review on anyone's behalf, and nothing is published without the customer's approval.
2. Plans
2.1 Free pilot. If we invite you onto the pilot, you use Echlo free for as long as the pilot runs. Either of us can end it at any time. There is no charge and no commitment. We may ask you for feedback, and we may look at how Echlo is used (section 8) to improve it.
2.2 Founding plan. Open to the first 10 businesses.
- The first month is free.
- After the free month you pay £40 a month.
- By signing up you commit to three paid months following the free month (the "minimum term"). The commitment starts when you sign up: cancelling during the free month or the minimum term does not cancel the payments for the rest of the minimum term.
- After the minimum term the plan continues monthly. You can cancel at any time and it ends at the end of the month you have paid for. No notice period, and no refunds for part months.
- Your price is held for as long as your subscription continues without a break. If it ends and you later return, the price at that time applies.
2.3 Usage. The founding plan includes up to 100 review requests a month for one business. Unused requests do not roll over. If you need more, contact us and we'll agree it with you before anything changes.
3. Payment
- Payment is by Direct Debit, set up when you sign up, through our payment provider GoCardless. The first collection is at the end of your free month, and then monthly.
- [VAT: Echlo is not currently VAT-registered, so no VAT is charged. If that changes we will tell you at least 30 days before VAT is added.]
- If a payment fails we will tell you and try again. If it is still unpaid 14 days after we tell you, we may suspend your account until it is paid.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree that:
- you will send requests only to genuine customers who have actually used your business, and only about that experience;
- you will not offer anything in return for a review, or make anything depend on one;
- you will not select who to ask based on whether they are likely to be positive, or try to stop a customer posting a negative review;
- you will not write, or ask anyone else to write, a review of your own business, or edit a customer's review;
- you have a lawful basis to contact the customers you send requests to (section 7);
- you will follow the rules of each review platform, and the law on consumer reviews in the places you trade, including the UK Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024;
- you will not describe the reviews as written by AI or by Echlo. They are your customer's own words, drafted from their own answers and approved by them.
You are responsible for everything done through your account, and for keeping your login details safe.
5. What we don't promise
- We do not guarantee any number of reviews, any rating, or that a platform will accept or keep a review. Platforms set their own rules and can remove reviews.
- Echlo is a new product and still developing. We will take reasonable care to keep it available and working, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change features. If a change takes away something important to you, we will tell you and you may cancel without the rest of your minimum term being due.
6. Reviews and content
A review belongs to the customer who wrote and approved it. Echlo claims no ownership of it. You keep ownership of your business name, logo and anything else you give us, and you let us use them only to run Echlo for you.
7. Data
When you use Echlo, we process your customers' personal data on your behalf. You are the controller of that data and we are the processor. Our Data Processing Agreement forms part of these terms. How we handle data about you and your business is in our Privacy Policy.
8. How we improve Echlo
We may look at how Echlo is used, including anonymised or aggregated information and screen-recording tools on our own pages, to find and fix problems. We will not publish anything that identifies you or your customers without your permission.
9. Suspension and ending
- You can cancel as set out in section 2.
- We may suspend or end your account at once if you seriously break these terms, especially section 4. We may also end it for any reason with 30 days' notice. If we do, we will not charge for any period after it ends, and no remaining minimum-term payments will be due.
- When your account ends, we delete your data as set out in the Data Processing Agreement.
10. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
- Otherwise, we are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or reputation, or for any indirect loss.
- Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to £5,000.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will tell you at least 30 days before a change that affects you. If you don't agree to it, you may cancel before it takes effect without the rest of your minimum term being due.
If a change is material, we will ask you to accept the new terms, and the Data Processing Agreement where that changes, on your dashboard the first time you visit after the change takes effect. You can't send new requests until you do. Corrections that don't change what either document means, such as fixing a typo, don't need you to accept again.
12. General
- These terms, the Data Processing Agreement and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us.
- If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
